Chantal Bethel was one of 43 Bahamians honoured as Cultural Legends for the 43rd Independence Anniversary. The ceremony was held on Tuesday July 5th, 2016 in Pompey Square, Nassau, Bahamas.
Recognized for their outstanding contribution to arts, entertainment, music, business, tourism, and journalism, forty-three Bahamians were lauded as “Cultural Legends” during a ceremony, July 5, held in Pompey Square, the event part of the country’s 43rd Independence Anniversary Celebrations. Top Bahamian artists to exhibit in Harlem Fine Arts Show, NY

The works of three artists representing The Islands Of The Bahamas, will be featured at the Harlem Fine Arts Show which takes place in New York, at the historic Riverside Church, February 4-7th, 2016.
The Harlem Fine Arts Show is an exhibition of contemporary paintings, sculpture and photography featuring art from the African Diaspora. The 4-day New York Show will showcase over 80 national and international artists and galleries and will be open to collectors, art enthusiasts, educators and professionals...
BAHAMIANS HONORED AT WORLD DAY OF PRAYER
As the Bahamas was chosen to be the host for International Wold day of Prayer 2015, three artists were asked to submit works to be used during the Conference of international World Day Of Prayer.
From the three proposals, they chose “Blessed” by Chantal Bethel to be the WDP art theme. (Read more.....)

“REQUIEM FOR HAITI”
Oil painting by Chantal E.Y. Bethel received a prize at the Embassy of Haiti.
The painting was also selected to
be the cover of WOMAN SPEAK - a Journal of Litterature and Art by Caribbean Women
In April 2010, the Embassy of Haiti sent out a call for artistic contributions not only to celebrate the vivacity of Haiti's artistic creation, but also as a means to express solidarity among Haitians born artists. The Embassy aimed to honor the spirit of the Haitian people as being resourceful, hopeful, and determined especially after the January 2010 earthquake which devastated Haiti. (Read more.....)
